On April 19th, the ¨Senegalese cycle¨ starts in El Teatro del Barrio! Three days dedicated to the African culture, approaching it from multiple perspectives such as literature, cinema, dance, music, gastronomy, crafts…

And before telling you more… we want to thank El TEATRO DEL BARRIO for their support and trust by letting us this magnificent space! THANK YOU!

You will start on Tuesday 19th of April with Mamadou, who started his tour in Spain at the beginning of April, talking about his second book where he reveals and denounces the inequality created by migration, institutional racism and xenophobia based based on his personal experience. He will cross the country from South to North: he has been in Granada, Murcia, Valencia, Málaga… and will continue after Madrid, in Barcelona, Pamplona, Bilbao… You can follow him on fb (Dia Mamadou) to know where to find him! After the discussion with Mamadou we will have the honor to present the project of construction of the Sunu Xarit Aminata Cultural Center so that you can find out more about it, ask questions and involve yourself the way you want!

And to end the session, the artist Abdoulaye Sylla artiste will delight us with a concert of Kora, an instrument which probably you already know, but whose sound one never gets tired of!

But that is not all! We can also discover the flavours and colours of Senegal with the restaurant Dakar and La Tienda de Laye, while at the same time discussing and exchanging ideas.

The cycle will continue on April 26th, with the screening of a documentary followed by a discussion, and on May 3 with a concert of music and dance with the Senegalese group Kulumba.
